10-Year Anniversary at Localé in Tucson | Candid Documentary-Style Photography
10 Years, Lasagna, and a Lot of Laughs | Anniversary Session at Localé in Tucson
Some couples are just plain fun to be around—and these two? Total naturals.
They were celebrating ten years of marriage at Localé here in Tucson, surrounded by a tight-knit group of friends who’ve been in their lives since long before the “I dos.” It wasn’t a formal event—it was real, relaxed, and full of joy. From the minute I arrived, it felt like I was just one more friend hanging out with them, and that’s exactly how I like to work.
We started with a few casual portraits outside, just as golden hour settled in and the restaurant lights flickered on. The two of them were cracking jokes the entire time—quick to laugh, easygoing, and so clearly in sync. It made my job feel more like third-wheeling two very funny people than “posing” a couple. (Spoiler: I love that.)
As their guests arrived, the real magic started. I slipped into documentary mode, camera in hand, as they hugged old friends, toasted glasses, and shared hilarious stories from over the years. No stiff posing. No cheesy prompts. Just a celebration of love, friendship, and a decade of building a life together.
One thing I especially loved was how they just got to sit and enjoy the night. No pressure to perform. No interruptions for portraits. They were able to soak in their people, their food (seriously, the food was incredible), and each other — while I quietly captured all the little moments as they unfolded.
And just when I thought the night couldn’t get sweeter? The husband — who is clearly the kind of guy who gets it — handed me a tray of lasagna to take home. Enough for my whole family. My kids were ecstatic. I think they may ask me to work with him again, just for the leftovers.
““Working with Jenna was GREAT! She was prompt, very welcoming and made us feel comfortable, even in the busy environment we were shooting in. Seeing the pictures of our 10th anniversary dinner was great because we weren’t distracted by our phones. She captured the moment perfectly!””
Why It Mattered
This evening reminded me why I love what I do. I’m not just here to take pretty pictures, I’m here to tell the story of how it felt. The laughter. The people who’ve been with you since the beginning. The realness of a moment where everything just feels good.
That’s exactly the heart behind my Year in the Life sessions — a documentary-style offering that captures your family’s story over time. It’s not about perfect outfits or curated backdrops. It’s about your life as it is, beautifully lived.
